Rollo of Normandy Viking Shield

Rollo’s shield from ‘Vikings’ tv series, season 3. Known as Rollo of Normandy, originally Rollo Sigurdsson, is Ragnar Lothbrok's older brother and the Duke of Normandy.

This is a handmade item using redwood planks. The details are formed from mild steel to create the authentic spikes, rim or metal detailing and finished with a beautiful hand hammered steel boss, using traditional methods. The steel is hand weathered to give a more authentic look. The handle is also made from redwood, each individually shaped and wrapped in pu leather. Each shield is painted meticulously using acrylic paints. Every battle worn detail is created using various tools and techniques making your shield a unique, one off piece.

Please note the worn, battle areas will differ from the photo as they are all uniquely applied. Please email if you have a preference for the amount of damage. As the shields are hand painted, brush strokes will be visible. Although the shields are robust, they are not designed for full contact battle reenactment and are not suitable for children due to sharp parts. They are more suited to non contact LARP, cosplay and for display only.
